Humans as thirsty crops can still create beauty and sense, though their capacity to do so seems to be diminishing, and confusion and hideousness evidently taking over. This music invites the audience to mourn this development, and to seek moments of barren solace in the sound.
Intense calm can be heard as the overall mood of the album. The music calls on the listener to find tranquility in swathes of gloom, cinematic shimmer and murk,with glimpses of melancholy harmony and half-hidden details and nuances. This calm is framed in the tension of delicately conflicting sound elements, not always resolving.
Contrary to Brian Eno's opinion at some point in time that "ambient music must be as ignorable as it is interesting", this music invites you to concentrate, to feel sound as its own reward.
