Berliner Barock Solisten is an excellent ensemble founded in 1995 by Rainer Kussmaul, Raimar Orlovsky and other members of the Berliner Philharmoniker as an ensemble specialized in music of the 16th and 17th century. Their previous recording of J.S.Bach “Brandenburgische Konzerte” received excellent reviews and was awarded with an OPUS KLASSIK as best concerto recording. For their new recording on Sony Classical they teamed with the excellent soloists of the Berliner Philharmoniker, solo viola player Diyang Mei and violinist Noah Bendix-Balgley, first concert master of the Berliner Philharmoniker. Mozart`s famous clarinet concerto is performed by Diyang Mei in his version for viola and ensemble. The Sinfonia Concertante with Diyang Mei (viola) and Noah Bendix-Balgley (violin) comes in a fresh new recording.
