Exactly 50 years ago, SUPERSISTER toured the Netherlands and Europe in its last – and special line-up.
The American saxophone /nadasvaram player Charlie Mariano had just recently left the band and surprisingly ex-Soft Machine member Elton Dean was found as his successor. This also completed the circle that started out in the early 1970s with the ‘common sounds’ Supersister had with the British Canterbury scene, Soft Machine being an influential member.
With primal band members Ron van Eck (bass) and Robert Jan Stips (keys & vocals), drummer Herman van Boeyen and Elton Dean, SUPERSISTER once again stood fore xciting and moving live concerts, in which not only well-known hits and their latest album ‘Iskander’ were played, on top of that it was the virtuoso connecting improvisations that took the audience on a unique compelling adventure.
So, how pleasantly surprised we were, when recently coming across live tapes from that era, recorded directly from the 2x mono mixing consoles the band used at the time… Now after some editing and mastering work, SOSS proudly presents :
