Lorentzen - Leave Nobody Behind CD

This project, led by Norwegian musician and composer Eivind Lorentzen ( ex-Gentle Knife , Oldenborre, K, Synsbedragerne, etc.), brings together a number of great contributors. Together, they create an album of atmospheric, minimalist prog, characterized by great performances and Rilke readings. Firmly rooted in the realms of prog, modern classical, and Nordic jazz, with echoes of Vasks, Reich, Fripp, Frahm, Bartsch, and others,
repetitive motifs in asymmetrical meters are contrasted and echoed by live strings, percussion, and acoustic and electric guitars. One listener described it as "humanistic minimalism." At first glance, not much seems to be happening... but then it does... Hope remains a central dimension in the record, expressed in the album title Leave Nobody Behind and the pieces of the same name, as well as in Dimensions of Hope I-II, and notwithstanding The Dark Hours of my Being (a Rilke poem recited on the record), the musical contributors include Atle Pakusch Gundersen (Wintherstormer, The Cut), Trond Gjellum (Panzerpappa), Jácome Guerrero Kiko (Superkabras), Paulin Skoglund-Voss (sought-after solo cellist and session musician), Markus Reuter (Stick Men), Davide Rossi (violin for Coldplay, Verve and others) and Charlotte Valstad Nilsen (ex-Gentle Knife). Brian Talgo not only plays the Mellotron but also takes over the recitation, proving that his work on Gentle Knife's Resignation was no accident.
