An extraordinary chapter in Anastasia Kobekina's career reaches its climax: the pioneering cellist releases her recording of the complete cello suites by Johann Sebastian Bach.
Since she was awarded the Leonard Bernstein Award and an Opus Klassik in 2024 and ARD released the feature-length documentary “Now or Never!” about her, Kobekina’s career has been gaining momentum.
With her interpretation of the six suites for solo cello—a musical "Mount Everest" for cellists—Kobekina aims to open a "shared space of interpretation": one for her—and for us. As with her highly acclaimed album "Venice," she promises a fresh perspective on well-known music. She plays various period instruments, namely two Stradivari cellos (from 1698 and 1717) and a piccolo cello—with a profound sense of historical performance practice.
