The album, “The Last Ship (Expanded Edition),” is expanded with five brand new, previously unheard tracks, completing the album’s now 24-track release. “The Last Ship” is a powerful conceptual album with deeply personal themes of community, home and survival. The songs on the album were written for – and inspired by – the musical of the same name, and focus on a small shipbuilding community in Sting’s own hometown of Wallsend in North East England, where the town must navigate a new reality after losing the industry that was at the heart of its community.
