Archive, the long-running South London collective formed in 1994, announce their thirteenth studio album Glass Minds, released via their own Dangervisit label through [PIAS]. The record is introduced by lead single ‘Look At Us’, paired with a striking video directed by Maxim Kelly.
Produced by the band alongside longtime collaborator Jerome Devoise, Glass Minds was recorded in Brighton and London, then mixed in Paris. Its artwork comes from Saatchi Gallery-collected artist Alaric Hammond. The album follows 2022’s expansive triple set Call to Arms & Angels, which charted across Europe and culminated in a sold-out show at Paris’s Accor Arena.
Founding member Darius Keeler describes the project as inspired by the minimal power of the early song ‘Patterns’, recalling the rhythm and melancholy of their debut Londinium. Influenced by Elgar’s ‘Nimrod’, the band incorporated brass to heighten emotion and broaden the sound. Where the previous record reflected the heaviness of the pandemic, Glass Minds moves towards a more spacious and hopeful dimension.
