London-based, Wrexham-raised artist and producer Art School Girlfriend returns with her third album Lean In, released via Fiction. Self-produced in her East London studio, it marks her most cohesive and adventurous work to date — a confident fusion of alternative rock, electronic pop, and experimental ambient sounds. The album reflects a period of creative independence and widening horizons. Alongside her own releases, she’s collaborated with Daniel Avery, Lane 8, Jasper Tygner, and Ghostpoet; toured the US with The Japanese House and Marika Hackman; and delivered DJ sets for Bonobo’s Outliers, HOR, and her long-running monthly Foundation FM show. Written, produced, and engineered entirely by Polly Mackey, Lean In invites listeners deeper into the intricate sonic world she’s built — one defined by emotional depth, atmospheric production, and an ever-expanding vision.
