"Vida" is the eleventh studio album by Brazilian singer and songwriter Chico Buarque and was released by Philips Records in 1980. It marked an important transitional phase in his career. The then 36-year-old revealed a new artistic maturity on "Vida", which was well received by critics and fans alike. Chico began to deal with more personal and poetic themes in his compositions. "Vida" was created in this context and deals with social issues in a more subtle way. Fittingly, the songs were given sparse orchestral arrangements that flirted with minimalism and contemporary Brazilian pop music.
The classic is now being reissued on colored vinyl.
