We used to write songs about imaginary worlds, drawing inspiration from cinema, science fiction and fantasy literature, and esotericism.
In recent years, we have felt that the real world has overtaken science fiction, gradually sliding into a frightening dystopia.
It is in this context that we wrote GREEN SCREENS, in reference to the green screens used in film and video, onto which any background can be digitally added (in post-production).
The lyrics of most of the songs are inspired by this digital anxiety, in the era of post-truth and AI, of corporations taking control of life, of the rise of fascism and the incredible difficulty we have in resisting it.
This is reflected in the sound, where we have moved away from more traditional rock towards something more mechanical and synthetic, adding synth sequences, samples and sometimes drum machines, drawing inspiration from new wave and (post) punk of the late 70s and early 80s, DEVO, Suicide, Tuxedo Moon, Tone on Tails... or more recent like Viagra Boys or Fat Dog.
